The Beach

We made another trip to Hammonasset only this time the weather was slightly opposite from the last time...and we had one other passenger, Rebecca Moser. We left at about 9 in the morning and got there a little after 10 and hung out til about 1 or so. The weather was absolutely gorgeous!!! You couldn't ask for a nicer day at the beach. The ocean was so still it looked like a lake. There were no waves whatsoever...i've never seen anything like it! We walked...and walked...and walked...and walked some more...with no shoes...until we got to the rocks and then we went out almost to the end. It was rather precarious for me :) After the rock pier we climbed on top of a "wicked" tall rock :) That was a little precarious too...but not only for me this time :) The getting up was fine, it was the getting down that was a little stressful! After that we headed back to our towels and laid down (well some of us did) for a while to get some color of course :) Rebekah had other ideas...she got a little bored just laying so she made a "huge" stick wall :) It's kinda hard to explain so we'll show you a picture. To give you an idea, one of the sticks was taller than me...as if it takes a lot :) We called Dorothy to find out where a good place for lunch was and she said "Larry and Joes...or is it Jack and Bob's...or Jerry and Tom's...sigh...I know it's two men's names..." It ended up being Lenny and Joe's and it was FANTASTIC!!! I got a lobster roll that was really expensive but worth every penny! We also got onion rings to split that were really good too...even though those aren't exactly what you'd call seafood. Then we came home, took showers and found out that we were all pretty fried...but it doesn't really hurt too much so thats good.

If you look out you can see a lighthouse in the picture...well I guess it's probably about in the middle of the picture. Look close :)

Check out the color in these pictures. You can't tell where the ocean stops and the sky starts...it was all the same color! It was really pretty.

This was the precarious moment on the rocks :)

This here is the "wicked" tall rock that we were on top of...apparently I couldn't believe that we had been on top of that thing! (check out my face) hehe

Rebekah and I have been working out...it's paid off too cause you can see that she's strong enough to hold up the rock :)

This here is the "huge" stick wall...it actually looked pretty cool and it got a few comments from some people wandering by :)

I realized that I forgot to say that our hike was on Friday (one of the most beautiful Good Fridays I can remember). I just wanted to throw that out there before you all got confused and maybe thought I went on a hike and to the beach on the same day :)

  1. Wow...using big words are we. Precarious, I don't think I've ever heard you say that word, let alone say it myself, but my vocabulary is rather small. Must be a R-ville word. You make me look like a couch potato with all the hikes and walks you go on. All I do is keep up with Sierra. She'll be walking soon...and then running...maybe then I'll get some excercise. Toodles...
